Hi friends! Welcome back to the blog on this wonderful Sunday. Today I’m writing about a verse that I found on Pinterest that is just so joyful and positive and a great reminder.
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy.
1 Peter 1:8//NIV Translation
For today I really want to focus on the second half of this verse (although the first half is great too). I love this verse so much and it essentially tells us that we should rejoice with such a strong joy that it cannot be expressed in words. I think that this scripture gives us a great reminder that among all the stress we deal with and the consuming ways of the world, we should turn back to joy. Joy is an everlasting and godly emotion that isn’t tainted by the world. While in the present we may not be happy with our current situation, we can always be joyful. Joy stems from knowing that we have abounding grace through God. When we realize that God’s grace is eternal, we can start to realize we need to have eternal joy.
And to take having this joy a step further, we can use it to praise God by having glory in regards to Him like it states in the verse above. Our joy is a praise to God because when we have joy during our struggles, it means we are turning to Him and focusing on Him, which indirectly means we are praising Him.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for reading. I’ll be back Wednesday with another post so see you then!
Much love & grace,
